I initially saw Robert through a recommendation from a married couple who told me they both had successful treatment from him for back injuries due to an auto collision.

My problem was shoulder and neck tightness and resulting headaches. Robert was able to help me with acupuncture and herbs, but also and very importantly with advice on stretching, breathing, posture, and a number of other related issues.  I'd see Robert for anything and everything including what I call "tune-ups" or preventative maintenance.

I came to Dr. Kaneko seeking treatment for persistent lower back pain. As an active person, I was frustrated that after every workout, day in the garden, or backpacking trip, I would wake up stiff and with a very painful lower back. I had tried anti-inflammatory medication, been to a chiropractor, and tried stretching as much as possible, all to no avail.

After my first visit to Dr. Kaneko, the pain was alleviated. He took the time and care to understand what my problem was and when and why it occurred. I had never had acupuncture before, but Dr. Kaneko’s calm demeanor put me at ease, and I was amazed that I felt better instantaneously. He taught me movements and stretches that were easy to incorporate into my already busy life.

My treatments proved beneficial not only for my back, but for introducing relaxation practice into my life. I have found acupuncture to help my acute problem of lower back pain, but it has also contributed into making me a more relaxed, rested, and balanced person.

After a month of treatments, I feel much better. I still continue to seek acupuncture treatments for my back pain as it arises and for the stress relief it has brought me. I can’t thank Dr. Kaneko enough.
